In April 2012, Karel Drašnar and Aleš Najbrt began developing an application for creating online brand guidelines to help designers implement brands for their clients. In September of the same year, the first version of BrandCloud was launched. Among our first customers were Czech Television, Invia, Hranipex, ZOO Olomouc, and Fragment. In the following year, 2013, we began a long-term collaboration with partner studios, including Studio Najbrt, La Taupe, and Loom On The Moon.

2014 was a year of significant change for us. We actively listened to our users needs and decided to redesign our application to make it more accessible and user-friendly for a broader audience. In 2015, we participated in the Czech ICT Incubator competition in Silicon Valley. Our efforts led us to the finals, providing us with valuable experiences and beneficial consultations, which ultimately paved the way to an investors in the Czech Republic. In 2016, BrandCloud officially transformed into a limited liability company (s.r.o.) and became part of the Altron Business Solutions portfolio. Together, we achieved our first major milestone—reaching an annual turnover of 45 000$.

In 2017, we launched a customer outreach campaign called "This is BrandCloud". 2018 was a period of fundamental change. We successfully repaid our angel investor. This year we also organized our first standalone event for designers, called Designers Mixxxer, which grew from a few attendees to over 100. In 2019, we added a new platform for managing ISO, HSE and PO guidelines. 2020 was a major milestone for us, celebrating our success with 100 paying clients.

In 2021, we reached a tipping point where we expanded the development team, and introduced features like SSO and statistics. Another major upgrade to the app in 2022 brought support for comments and approvals. In 2023, we were thrilled to surpass the 14,000 weekly active users mark. BrandCloud has become more than just an app over the years - it's a living organism that grows, learns and adapts to our clients.
